FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 14th, 2011
Lethbridge, AB

It's a new year in Canadian motocross, and with a new year comes new racing and even some times, new traditions! Along with Kermaxx Performance Accessories, The Lethbridge Motorcycle Club (LMC) and Inside MotoX & Off Road, we are pleased to introduce the newest and the most prestigious award of the Western Amateur Canadian National:

The "Kermaxx Silver Sprocket Award!"

The Kermaxx Silver sprocket award will be awarded at the WCAN on June 29th - July 2nd to the rider that earns the most points during the week in either of the following classes:

85cc (12 - 16 years)
Super Mini
MX2 (125cc) Junior A
MX1 (250cc) Junior
MX3 (GP) Junior A
MX2 (125cc) Intermediate
MX1 (250cc) Intermediate
MX3 (GP) Intermediate

"Kermaxx is very pleased to be involved with the Western Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships," says Kermaxx Performance Accessories owner Dave Kermack. "Beginning this season, the WCAN will be awarding the Kermaxx Silver Sprocket award to the best all around performance by an amateur rider of the event and we are proud to have the Kermaxx brand behind it. This will be the top award of course, and will continue a tradition of rewarding dedication to motocross (and the subsequent best results during the WCAN) and will be deemed prestigious, just as the previous award was. Being a Canadian company, we understand the importance of supporting and encouraging growth of motocross at the amateur level in Canada. Without the grassroots development, the sport could not continue to grow, and we are proud to support this event. We wish the very best of luck to all the racers that will be participating."

Inside MotoX & Off Road magazine are once again the official media partner of the WCAN, and look forward to bringing some great exposure to the week.

"We are very excited about this event and our involvement with it once again," says Derek Rockel from IMX. "Amateur racing has always been something we have supported and we have some great stuff planned for this year and now with the Kermaxx Silver Sprocket award added to the already growing list, it just makes it all that much more exciting."
