The 13th Annual Western Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships

It's back and better than ever and for 4 BIG days, June 30, July 1-3, 2010, Temple Hill Motorcycle Park, at Raymond, AB will be rockin'. Top Amateur riders from across Canada and the United States will be showing up again to fight it out for the bragging rights in the 13th Annual Western Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships (WCAN). Temple Hill offers a natural terrain, sand base track with good elevation changes to provide a challenge to all who attend.

This is the largest amateur motocross event in Western Canada and riders have set their sites on this event for past few years! Gerry and Heather Nelson (Top End Promotions Inc) have retired from the Event and to that end, to continue the legacy of Temple Hill and in the spirit of a Club atmosphere, the Lethbridge Motorcycle Club and the Over the Bars Club are excited to announce that together, they are taking over the management and hosting of the Western Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships.

Each CMRC region in Canada will be running a series of events, Amateur National Qualifiers (ANQ) that serve to qualify the top amateur motocross riders to compete for a CMRC Canadian Amateur Championship. The regions benefit from the WCAN because of the qualifying structure implemented, it encourages riders to attend their regional qualifiers to guarantee themselves a starting position in their class. Putting Amateur riders on a national podium is our objective. Giving them a chance to test their ability against other out-of-region riders allows for a well-rounded field of competitors. Developing skill and allowing our youth to taste victory helps them go to the front of the pack. This event puts our best riders on the track with other top competitors from abroad.

The WCAN offers competitors of all levels a chance to race and to enjoy the family-festival type atmosphere that we strive to provide the riders, their families and the spectators. The event also has a whole range of amenities for the campers and spectators; fresh water service and septic service for those camping in RV's, full concession, displays and is close to Raymond, AB for many other services. There are many "after-racing" activities too.
